The Railway Tavern is situated directly opposite the site of the new Channel Tunnel rail link.  It has been in the same family for over 40 years and is now run by Tom and Jan Dooner.  It is the only public house in Newham with a 24 hour licence and is open Monday to Saturday from 6.00am to 10.00am and then from 11.00am to midnight Monday to Saturday and noon to 10.30pm on Sundays.  The pub's friendly, family atmosphere attracts an eclectic mix of customers.  Hot, home-cooked food is served at lunch-time Monday to Friday, and from 5.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Thursday.  There is Live Music on the last Saturday of each month and regular Karaoke on Friday and Sunday evenings.

The Railway has recently undergone a major refurbishment and has added a 9 bedroom all en-suite hotel offering full English Breakfast and home cooked food throughout the day. The Railway can accommodate private functions in its lovely conservatory, which adjoins the main bar area and garden. There are ample parking facilities.
